Running Costs

Just like owning a car, there are annual and adhoc running costs to consider.

There are 4 main costs:
  1. Site Fees , Rates & Water
  2. Insurance
  3. Electricity
  4. Gas

  1. Site Fees , Rates & Water
This is an annual charge for the Holiday Home to be sited on the Park, and includes water charges, council rates and any access to the Park facilities.
The amount paid varies from Park to Park, depending on location and facilities. There is a higher cost for Twin Holiday Homes compared to Single Homes. This cost is payable at the start of the season, either in full or by monthly direct debit (installments over 10 months - February to November inclusive).

Site Fees are reviewed each year, and will only ever increase by the rate of inflation or less. Rates are dictated by the ruling Council in that area and water charges by the water board.
  1. Insurance
Usually dealt with annually, the premium being paid to a third party outside of Allens Caravans. This again varies according to location, size of Holiday Home, contents covered and standard of the Holiday Home.
  1. Electricity
Usually charged bi-annually, metered at each unit. This cost will vary on how much you use the Holiday Home, much like any Home.
  1. Gas
Depending on the Park, bought as LPG cylinders when needed or bi-annually, metered at each unit. Again this will vary depending on usage.
